I am a licensed psychotherapist and have been practicing in Palm Springs for the last 16 years. I completed my Masters degree in counseling psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I also have a Masters degree in Fine Art from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia. I founded and directed an art program for oncology patients and their families at the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center for nearly a decade. I now happily live in the beautiful Coachella Valley as a fulltime resident.

Here in Palm Springs I was invited to be a part of the task force to facilitate the establishment of a low cost counseling center for LGBTQ seniors for the Golden Rainbow Center. I also wrote and received two Anderson Children's Foundation grants to create and direct a therapy program for at risk teens for Palm Springs Unified School District. Each of these experiences were so gratifying for me, both professionally and personally.

I have extensive experience and expertise working with depression and anxiety, terminal and chronic illness (for both the patients and caregivers), LGBTQ issues, and grief.

Gianna’s outstanding skills and great compassion for patients have contributed enormously to the Abramson Cancer Center. Over the years she has developed extraordinary programs that have benefited patients and their families as well as our staff. Gianna provides great emotional and spiritual support to our patients and the positive feedback from patients and their families was overwhelming. It has been my great privilege to know and work with Gianna over these years.”
